Recovery, reuse, and recycling are three concepts that must become concrete actions for all production cycles and product lifecycles as part of the 2030 Agenda.

In this sense, SPEA promotes a sustainable culture internally and encourages conscious actions from employees regarding waste separation (plastic, glass, paper, etc.).

Our new motto is “Less consumption and waste, more recycling,” which we strive to communicate to all our collaborators by providing useful suggestions applicable in both work and personal life.

Continuous attention to waste separation (general waste, paper, plastic, aluminum, and organic) grows each year; according to criteria agreed upon with the municipal collection basin, we achieved a 78% rate in 2023.

In 2023, 95% of waste produced in production processes was either valorized or directed towards recovery activities by transforming it into new resources. Our goal is to ensure less than 2% of waste is sent for disposal. To support these objectives, we provide ongoing training programs to enhance awareness about reducing waste and improving resource efficiency.

The conscious contribution of each individual is essential; the combination of continuous training and awareness-raising is key to building and strengthening a culture of resource conservation; reduced paper usage is a positive example.

Throughout the year, various projects have been initiated to reduce paper consumption and promote its recovery and reuse through:

• digitization of documents within certain processes
• ongoing training directed at all personnel
• recovery and reuse of printed paper used only on one side
• setting up collection points for reusable boxes delivered to storage

Recognizing the importance of saving and reducing raw material usage, SPEA also commits to improving raw material selection by prioritizing more sustainable, recyclable, or recycled materials whenever possible.

Consequently, the procurement of paper used for printing corporate documents is selected from Ecolabel and FSC – certified reams -European labels that certify reduced environmental impact throughout the product’s lifecycle.
