Rocket EMS expands testing capabilities with a new SPEA flying probe system

Flying Probe Tester 4060 - Rocket EMS - SPEA

Rocket EMS Inc., a Silicon Valley-based full-service EMS supplier, has just expanded its testing capabilities by acquiring a new SPEA 4060 S2 flying probe tester, the second one at their facilities.
The 4060 S2 offers Rocket EMS unbeatable fault coverage, which is essential for a company that has based its reputation and its spectacular growth on the extraordinary quality of the delivered products.

“We demonstrate every day that 100% yield is not an impossible target: for us, it is a minimum standard in everything we do. To fulfill this commitment with our customers, we do need to rely on testing equipment able to detect every possible defect in the electronics we manufacture” said Michael Kottke, President at Rocket EMS. “We purchased a second 4060 S2 after the first one has been a workhorse for six years, meeting and exceeding our expectations in terms of test coverage, reliability and robustness”.

4060 S2 combines full multi-function in-circuit test capabilities with the plug & play concept of a fixtureless system, ready to test a new product after a fast automatic test program generation, with no need for specific adapters or setup. This brings multiple benefits: on one hand, the system can also test boards which cannot include test pads in their layout (e.g. high-density assemblies, 5G and HF circuitries), directly contacting the pins of the smallest components on the board with absolute precision. On the other hand, 4060 S2 supports Rocket EMS’ need to meet short lead times, being always on time with deliveries.

“Our activities have a special focus on New Product Introductions, with highly innovative projects in complex fields such as medical, telecommunications, aerospace” adds Mr. Kottke. “The possibility to go from product design to test in a very short time is a great added value”.
“We are very pleased to be chosen by one of the most recognized and fastest growing EMS companies in Silicon Valley” said Giovanni Noto, Sales Director at SPEA. “Our flying probe technology offers both world-leading performance and long-term reliability, and we are strictly committed to supporting Rocket EMS in delivering top quality products, even with the most complex and mission-critical electronics”.
